Greetings ITSMF Family!
I recently had a mind-blowing experience listening to Aicha Evans, CEO of Zoox talk about the future of AI and autonomously driven vehicles. She said that we will be ordering a car service driven by AI in our lifetime and if she has her way, our grandchildren will not see the value of having a driver’s license. As I watched this Black woman talk about how close Zoox is to teaching AI how to problem solve for unforeseen circumstances on the road…. I thought WOW, this is exactly why ITSMF was founded in 1996. Because WE have the ability and intellect to be this type of leader… if we have the opportunity. Amazon just bought Zoox for $1.3billion and now this company has an influx of resources to innovate. This is exactly what our mission is all about. The futurists say that in this century we will experience 20,000 years of innovation in technology and the next century will be one thousand times faster. We must ensure that the leaders at the forefront of this innovation are diverse!
As we begin the fourth quarter of 2022. I am excited about our plans underway for 2023. We are thinking big and harnessing the momentum of this moment in time and we promise to deliver the best programming and events that you have experienced. See you in Austin, Texas in November!
President and CEO, ITSMF
About Information Technology Senior Management Forum
Since 1996, Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) has been dedicated to increasing the representation of Black professionals at senior levels in technology to impact organizational innovation and growth. We do this by developing and nurturing these dynamic leaders through enrichment of the mind, body and soul. At its inception, only 3% of senior-level positions in the technology industry were held by Blacks. With a half-million new computer-related jobs expected by 2028, ITSMF is committed to increasing the number of qualified Black professionals for these positions.
